Indian batting performed below par against a quality Pakistani bowling attack. However, the Men in Blue would settle for the total of 245 for 8 in the end. Team India was in deep trouble at 103 for 4 midway through its innings.

Trouble started early for India with Shikhar Dhawan missing a flick shot to a quicker one from Mohammad Hafeez which had him lbw in the 3rd over. Virat Kohli was dismissed cheaply for 5 as he got caught behind, trying to steer a bouncy delivery from Umar Gul in the 10th over.

Rohit Sharma who played an attacking innings, scored his 22nd ODI fifty but couldn’t convert it into a tall score. Rohit Sharma got out in the 20th over after miscuing an ambitious slog pull off debutant fast bowler Mohammad Talha. Rohit’s 56 came in 58 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

AT Rayudu scored a crucial 58 from 62 balls with 4 fours and a six. Ravindra Jadeja lucky to be dropped by Mohammad Hafeez, played a blinder scoring 52 not out from 49 balls. India courtesy of these two half centuries got to what could be a competitive total.

Mohammad Talha was the find of the match taking 2 for 22 in 7 overs for his brisk fast bowling. Saeed Ajmal took 3 for 40 on 10 overs and Mohammad Hafeez who opened the bowling took 2 for 38 in 9 overs.
