Maverick cricketer Andrew Symonds finds himself out of the second T20 World Cup in England after being forced to leave the Squad by Cricket Australia following an alcohol incident. Symonds has been replaced with Cameron White in the Australia’s T20 World Cup Squad. It has been a big blow for the Australian team in losing their main match winner just ahead of the tournament.

According to Cricket Australia, Andrew Symonds has broken his commitment of distancing himself from alcohol which had put him in serious trouble on previous occasions. The all-rounder appears to have got back to his old bad habits in England just when he was kept under an intensive scanner by Cricket Australia.

The Australian Board had already given Symonds one last chance to keep his discipline intact as an international cricketer which he seems to have lost following this incident. This follows several incidents of indiscipline which includes – attending team practice in a drunken state in Cardiff, 2005 followed up by missing a team meeting to go fishing, a spat with Michael Clarke in West Indies a few months back and a drunken interview to a radio channel.

Symonds has already been dropped from the upcoming Ashes tour. The all-rounder’s international career remains doubtful now as his contract with Cricket Australia would be ending on June 30. The 33-year-old could end up with a premature retirement from international cricket. Symonds who could have lost the hunger for international cricket might just focus on playing for the Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League.
