Brett Lee ruled out of World Cup!

Australia have received yet another jolt to their World Cup campaign as they have lost the services of Brett Lee. An ankle injury has forced Lee to miss next month’s event. Stuart Clark has been named as the replacement. As many as four players who have been named in the 15-man squad are down with injuries. Andrew Symonds had a surgery on his biceps just recently and is an unlikely candidate for the tournament. Hayden is doubtful with a broken toe while Michael Clarke is struggling with a hip injury. Brett Lee’s injury was an unfortunate, which was because of a fall during training ahead of the first Chappell-Hadlee ODI at Wellington. Lee is expected to be out for around three months due to the ankle injury.

The defending World Champions are struggling with a loss of form and injuries to key players. They are entering the tournament following a shocking defeat in the hands of England in the CB Series and then a 0-3 whitewash that the Kiwis had inflicted on them.
