Debutant fast bowler Pat Cummins claimed superb figures of 6 for 79 tp help Australia restrict SA to 339 and thus settle to a realistic target of 310 runs in the second and final Test at Jonannesburg. Australia got off to a solid platform at 142 for 3 in 37 overs in their run chase thanks to half centuries from Ricky Ponting (54*) and one down Usman Khawaja (65 from 110 balls with 8 fours and a six). Another overnight batsman AB de Villiers who was on 70 could only add three more runs before getting removed by Cummins. There was a useful cameo of 41 (from 64 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes) from Dale Steyn which was responsible in stretching the target to a competitive 310.
