England resume Day 2 at an overnight score of 364/6 in 90.0 Ovs (Strauss 161* Broad 7*) in their first innings.

Morning Session – England 1st Innings

Over 90.2: Bowled him! Ben Hilfenhaus to A Strauss, good length delivery, oh dear that is a terrible leave from Strauss and the ball swings back slightly from over the sticks and hits the off stump.

Over 90.6: Boundary! Ben Hilfenhaus to G Swann, half volley, angles onto the pads and Swann plays a wristy flick shot infront of square for a boundary.

Over 91.5: He is Caught! P Siddle to G Swann, short and rising delivery, plays away from his body and the result is an outside edge that is caught by Ponting in the slips.

Over 92.1: Boundary! Ben Hilfenhaus to S Broad, short of length delivery, precious runs here for England with Broad lifting his leg up and pulling it down to fine leg for a boundary.

Over 92.5: Boundary! Ben Hilfenhaus to S Broad, good length delivery, looks to cut it and gets an inside edge that misses the off stump and runs away to the fine leg boundary.

Over 92.6: Bowled him! Ben Hilfenhaus to S Broad, pitched up delivery, goes for an expansive drive without getting his frontfoot across and ends up dragging it onto the stumps off the inside edge.

Over 95.3: Two runs. P Siddle to Graham Onions, good length delivery, gets half forward and strokes it square of the wicket on the off side. Siddle is not feeling well!

Over 96.1: Three runs. Ben Hilfenhaus to J Anderson, short of length delivery, opens the face of the blade and guides it down in the gap between gully and point and picks up three.

Over 96.2: Boundary! Ben Hilfenhaus to Graham Onions, short of length delivery, what a shot that was from the no.11, pouncing onto a bit of width and smacking that past point for a boundary.

Over 97.6: Boundary! M Johnson to J Anderson, good length delivery, produces a backfoot drive out of nowhere to find a boundary through extra covers.

Over 99.1: Boundary! M Johnson to J Anderson, good length delivery, makes a bit of room going back and slams that through extra covers for a boundary.

Over 99.2: Boundary! M Johnson to J Anderson, half volley, thats down the legside and Anderson glances it away to beat the fielder at fine leg for a boundary.

Over 99.6: Boundary! M Johnson to J Anderson, short and rising delivery, lots of width on offer and Anderson cuts that over point for a boundary.

Over 101.3: Boundary! M Johnson to J Anderson, pitched up delivery, width on offer and Anderson drives that flat over cover point for a boundary.

Over 101.4: He is Caught! M Johnson to J Anderson, short and rising delivery, round the sticks and Anderson fends this in the air straight to gully! England 425 all out in 101.4 Ovs (Anderson 29 Onions 17*)

Morning Session – Australia 1st Innings

Over 0.4: No runs. J Anderson to P Hughes, short of length delivery, tucks it safely to leg gully.

Over 2.1: Boundary! J Anderson to P Hughes, short of length delivery, gets the width and plays a free flowing drive through covers for a boundary.

Over 2.3: He is Caught! J Anderson to P Hughes, bangs it short, thats down the legside and Hughes who went for a pull shot could only glove it to the keeper!

Over 5.2: Four Leg Byes! A Flintoff to S Katich, short of length delivery, round the sticks now and strays down the legside, Katich deflects that away to fine leg boundary off his thigh pad.

Over 6.6: He is Caught! J Anderson to R Ponting, pitched up delivery, falls across in his flick shot by a big inswinger and there seems to be a thin inside edge that strikes the pad and flies straight to Strauss at first slip! Rudi Koertzen took the assistance of the third umpire to know whether it was a clean catch or not.

Over 9.1: Boundary! A Flintoff to S Katich, short and rising delivery, plays an upper cut to that wide one over gully for a boundary.

Over 11.6: No runs. A Flintoff to S Katich, short of length delivery, shuffles across and takes it on his hip. That’s lunch on Day 2 with Aus trailing behind by 403 runs with 8 wickets in hand. Australia 22/2 in 12.0 Ovs (Katich 8* Hussey 4*)

Afternoon Session – Australia 1st Innings

Over 12.2: Boundary! J Anderson to M Hussey, pitched up delivery, punches it down the ground and mid off is too close to stop that from going away to the boundary.

Over 14.1: No runs. J Anderson to S Katich, short of length delivery, pushes it to mid off. The light seems to have gone down because of the heavy clouds. Flood lights will be turned on.

Over 15.3: Beaten! S Broad to M Hussey, short and rising delivery, feels for that one outside off and in the end just withdraws the bat. Bit of drizzle already.

Rain has arrived now at Lord’s and we are in for a short break. Australia trail by 394 runs with 8 wickets in hand. Australia 31/2 in 16.0 Ovs (Katich 12* Hussey 9*)

Over 16.1: No runs. J Anderson to S Katich, short of length delivery, plays it back to the bowler. The lights are on and there is more rain in store for the rest of the day.

Over 17.2: Boundary! S Broad to S Katich, short of length delivery, plays a sweetly timed drive with an open faced blade behind point for a boundary.

Over 18.2: No runs. J Anderson to S Katich, good length delivery, gets forward and eases it to covers. It has started to rain again!

Over 19.5: No runs. S Broad to M Hussey, good length delivery, swings the ball back to strike the pad but the bat was also very close to convince the Umpire.

Over 22.1: Boundary! Graham Onions to M Hussey, bangs it short, pulls it hard along the ground through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 22.6: No runs. Graham Onions to M Hussey, good length delivery, sprays that a long way down the legside. Rain again at Lord’s.

Over 23.3: Boundary! S Broad to M Hussey, pitched up delivery, thats a lovely flowing drive that beats the diving covers fielder for a boundary.

Over 25.6: Boundary! S Broad to M Hussey, bangs it short, pulls it with control towards deep mid wicket and beats KP to the boundary.

Over 26.2: Boundary! Graham Onions to S Katich, pitched up delivery, plays a flashy drive through covers for a boundary.

Over 30.5: Boundary! Graham Onions to S Katich, pitched up delivery, plays a wristy on drive that beats mid on for a boundary.

Over 32.4: He is Caught! Graham Onions to S Katich, bangs it short, goes for the hook shot and can only top edge it to Broad at fine leg who runs to his right and dives forward to take that catch!

Over 32.5: Boundary! Graham Onions to M Hussey, half volley, drives that wide one gloriously through covers for a boundary.

Over 33.4: No ball + Single. A Flintoff to M Hussey, short and rising delivery, gets hit on the glove while trying to fend that across, he gets a single to bring up his 15th test fifty.

Over 35.6: Bowled him! A Flintoff to M Hussey, good length delivery, Hussey does a Strauss here, a stylish leave on the frontfoot but I am afraid thats a pacy inswinger at 95 mph that hits the off stump bang!

Over 36.3: He is Caught! J Anderson to Michael Clarke, good length delivery, flicks that big inswinger uppishly and straight into the hands of short mid wicket!

Over 36.5: Three runs. J Anderson to B Haddin , short of length delivery, guides it to point where the fielder Bopara makes a complete mess to his left to leak three runs.

Over 37.2: Boundary! A Flintoff to B Haddin , pitched up delivery, thats a free flowing drive on the up that beats the diving cover fielder for a boundary.

Over 38.6: Four Byes! J Anderson to M North, pitched up delivery, lets that wide one go to the keeper and Prior fails to stop that in his dive.

Over 39.3: Boundary! A Flintoff to B Haddin , short and wide, plays a back cut behind point for a boundary. That brings the deficit below 300.

Over 39.4: Three runs. A Flintoff to B Haddin , short of length delivery, flicks it wide of deep mid wicket and gets three runs from a lazy Broad.

Over 40.4: Three runs. J Anderson to B Haddin , short of length delivery, flicks it wristily past wide mid on and gets three runs.

Over 41.4: Boundary! S Broad to B Haddin , pitched up delivery, drives it straight down the ground and Broad is slow to react to his right and mid on fails to stop that to his left to give away a boundary.

Over 42.3: Bowled him! J Anderson to M North, short of length delivery, goes for an ambitious pull shot and shockingly drags it off the inside edge onto the stumps.

Over 43.5: Boundary! S Broad to M Johnson, short and rising delivery, pulls it confidently through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 45.5: He is Caught! S Broad to M Johnson, bangs it short, goes for the hook shot and perfectly falls in the trap set by England, he gets caught at deep squareleg by Cook.

Over 47.5: He is Caught! S Broad to B Haddin , bangs it short, miscues his pull shot in the air and is caught at mid wicket! He was done in for bounce there.

Over 48.3: Three runs. J Anderson to Nathan Hauritz, short of length delivery, opens the face on the backfoot and guides it through gully and picks up three.
