Australia 196/4 in 47.0 Overs (Clarke 34* North 7*) in their first innings at the start of play on Day 2.

Morning Session – Australia 1st Innings

Over 47.3: Boundary! J Anderson to M North, good length delivery, rocks back and drives that elegantly through extra covers for a boundary.

Over 48.1: Boundary! S Harmison to Michael Clarke, short and rising delivery, very slow from Harmy and Clarke pulls that away flat in the air towards wide mid on for a boundary.

Over 50.2: Boundary! S Harmison to Michael Clarke, short and rising delivery, pulls it down towards the vacant mid on region for a boundary.

Over 50.6: Boundary! S Harmison to M North, short and rising delivery, goes for a drive but the ball gets big on him and its an edge that flies down past gully for a boundary.

Over 52.4: Single. S Harmison to Michael Clarke, short of length delivery, flicks it to mid wicket for a single that brings up his 15th Test fifty.

Over 53.5: Boundary! J Anderson to Michael Clarke, good length delivery, goes back for a flashy drive and its a catchable edge that goes down begging through gully!

Over 53.6: Boundary! J Anderson to Michael Clarke, pitched up delivery, plays a crashing off drive to the left of mid off for a boundary.

Over 54.1: Boundary! S Broad to M North, half volley, feeds him on the pads and North flicks that away with ease to the squareleg boundary. Broad has replaced Harmison.

Over 55.3: Boundary! J Anderson to Michael Clarke, pitched up delivery, plays a thumping drive in the air to the left of Anderson for another boundary.

Over 57.1: Boundary! J Anderson to Michael Clarke, pitched up delivery, thats a big inswinger and Clarke plays a free flowing pick up shot with the angle to collect a boundary towards mid wicket.

Over 57.2: Boundary! J Anderson to Michael Clarke, pitched up delivery, flicks away another inswinger with the angle to the mid wicket boundary.

At Drinks, Australia 268/4 in 62 Ovs (Clarke 79* North 31*)

Over 64.1: Boundary! S Broad to M North, pitched up delivery, opens the face of the blade to direct that attempted yorker perfectly in the gap through the slip cordon for a boundary.

Over 65.2: Boundary! G Swann to Michael Clarke, flatter trajectory delivery, steps out and plays a flat lofted shot inside out over mid off for a boundary.

Over 71.5: Single. G Swann to M North, flighted delivery, drives it off the frontfoot towards sweeper covers and that brings up his 2nd Test match fifty.

Over 72.6: Out LBW! Graham Onions to Michael Clarke, pitched up delivery, fails to get down to a full length inswinger that strikes the pad infront of middle and leg. Rauf reckons there was no inside edge and sends Clarke back to the pavilion.

Over 75.6: No runs. G Swann to B Haddin , quicker and flatter in the air, defends it off the frontfoot. That’s Lunch on Day 2 with Aus taking their first innings lead to 204 runs. Australia 306/5 in 76.0 Overs (North 53* Haddin 2*)

Afternoon Session – Australia 1st Innings

Over 78.4: Boundary! S Harmison to B Haddin , bangs it short, thats down the legside and Haddin pulls it down to fine leg for a boundary.

Over 80.1: No runs. S Harmison to B Haddin , short of length delivery, defends it off the backfoot. The second new ball has been taken by England. Australia 323/5 in 80.1 Overs (North 58* Haddin 14*)

Over 80.2: He is Caught! S Harmison to B Haddin , short and rising delivery, goes for a hook shot with the ball climbing up on his face and ends up lobbing it softly to Bell at leg gully.

Over 85.1: Boundary! Graham Onions to M North, good length delivery, slashes at that nicely off the backfoot past point for a boundary.

Over 85.4: Boundary! Graham Onions to M North, half volley, plays a lovely drive wide of mid off for a boundary.

Over 86.1: Boundary! S Harmison to M North, short and rising delivery, hooks it away through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 90.1: Boundary! S Broad to M North, short and wide, cuts it away ferociously through point for a boundary.

At Drinks, Australia are 359/6 in 91 Overs (North 84* Johnson 8*)

Over 91.3: Four Leg Byes! Graham Onions to M Johnson, short of length delivery, takes the thigh pad down the legside and races away to the fine leg boundary.

Over 91.4: Boundary! Graham Onions to M Johnson, bangs it short, pulls it away in the air towards mid wicket and gets an easy boundary.

Over 93.1: Boundary! G Swann to M Johnson, flatter trajectory delivery, goes back and tickles it through fine leg for a boundary.

Over 93.6: Boundary! G Swann to M North, flatter trajectory delivery, goes back and cuts it behind point for a boundary.

Over 94.6: Boundary! S Broad to M Johnson, pitched up delivery, drives it on the up wide of extra covers for a boundary.

Over 95.2: Boundary! G Swann to M North, flatter trajectory delivery, sits down on his knee and plays a solid sweep through squareleg for a boundary.

Over 96.1: Boundary! S Broad to M Johnson, good length delivery, goes back and edges it low past the lone slip for a boundary.

Over 96.3: He is Caught! S Broad to M Johnson, bangs it short, goes for the hook shot in the air and perfectly falls in the trap set by Strauss with Bopara not even moving an inch to take that catch at deep mid wicket.

Over 96.6: Bowled him! S Broad to P Siddle, good length delivery, gets half forward and tries to play a little flick shot but the ball cuts away ever so slightly to strike the timber.

Over 97.3: Four Leg Byes! G Swann to M North, flatter trajectory delivery, goes back and deflects it off his hip to the fine leg boundary.

Over 97.6: Sixer! G Swann to M North, quicker and flatter in the air, sits down and plays a smacking slog sweep over wide mid wicket for a six and that brings up his 3rd test century, the second one in Ashes!

Over 98.4: Boundary! S Broad to S Clark, short of length delivery, makes room and slaps it inside out just over covers for a boundary.

Over 99.4: Sixer! G Swann to S Clark, flatter trajectory delivery, launches into that and lofts that straight over the bowler’s head for a six!

Over 100.4: Sixer! S Broad to S Clark, bangs it short, picks the length early and pulls it high over mid wicket for a six!!

Over 100.5: Sixer! S Broad to S Clark, bangs it short, this time goes for the hook shot and its another six high over mid wicket!

Over 102.5: Bowled him! S Broad to S Clark, short of length delivery, makes room to drive that through the off side but the ball stays low and takes a bottom edge onto the stumps. That’s the 2nd five-wkt haul for Broad.

Over 103.1: No runs. Graham Onions to M North, bangs it short, let’s that go to the keeper outside the off stump. Onions has replaced Swann. Tea has been pushed back by a max of 30 mins.

Over 103.3: Boundary! Graham Onions to M North, short and wide, slaps it ferociously over cover point for a boundary.

Over 104.1: He is Caught! S Broad to M North, pitched up delivery, clears his frontfoot and goes for the big shot but ends up getting caught at deep mid wicket. Well that’s Tea on Day 2 and England face a deficit of 343 runs in their second innings. Australia 445 all out in 104.1 Overs

Final Session – England 1st Innings

Over 2.6: Boundary! Ben Hilfenhaus to A Strauss, half volley, thats onto the pads and gets clipped away through squareleg for a boundary.

Over 4.2: Boundary! Ben Hilfenhaus to A Cook, half volley, flicks the inswinger with the angle through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 4.3: Boundary! Ben Hilfenhaus to A Cook, good length delivery, goes back and edges it safely past gully for a boundary.

Over 13.2: Boundary! M Johnson to A Strauss, short and rising delivery, pulls it away through squareleg for a boundary.

At Drinks, England are 29/0 in 15 Overs (Strauss 17* Cook 10*)

Over 15.2: Boundary! M Johnson to A Cook, pitched up delivery, sprays that down the legside and Cook gets a fine tickle that races away to the boundary past Haddin.

Over 16.1: Boundary! S Clark to A Strauss, pitched up delivery, flicks that with ease with the angle through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 16.2: Boundary! S Clark to A Strauss, pitched up delivery, easy pickings again, thats down the legside and Strauss whips it away to the fine leg boundary.

Over 22.4: Out LBW! Ben Hilfenhaus to A Strauss, good length delivery, hardly comes forward and gets rapped up on the pad dead infront of middle. Asad Rauf is spot on with the lbw.

Over 22.5: Out LBW! Ben Hilfenhaus to R Bopara, good length delivery, thats a very lazy prod forward and Hilfenhaus strikes the pad just around the off stump and Rauf raises his finger up! Hilfenhaus is on a hat-trick!

Over 22.6: Beaten! Ben Hilfenhaus to I Bell, good length delivery, draws him forward and beats him with an outswinger.

Over 23.1: No runs. M Johnson to A Cook, good length delivery, gets forward and dabs it to point. Bopara had got a faint inside edge as well but not conclusive whether it was bat or pad first.

Over 23.4: Boundary! M Johnson to A Cook, short and wide, thats a free flowing upper cut over gully for a boundary.

Over 25.5: He is Caught! M Johnson to I Bell, short of length delivery, pushes at that away going one with hard hands and its a simple catch taken at second slip.

Over 25.6: No runs. M Johnson to P Collingwood, short and rising delivery, cannot move away from the line of that and takes blow on the arm!

Over 27.6: Out LBW! M Johnson to P Collingwood, pitched up delivery, shuffles across and becomes a sitting duck to a full length inswinger which strikes him low infront of leg and middle. That was a straight forward lbw decision!

Over 28.6: No runs. Ben Hilfenhaus to A Cook, good length delivery, edges that on the backfoot and is lucky that the ball goes on the bounce to first slip!

Over 29.6: He is Caught! M Johnson to A Cook, pitched up delivery, doesn’t move his feet at all and nervously pokes at a near yorker just outside off and ends up nicking it to Haddin!

Over 31.6: Two runs. M Johnson to M Prior , pitched up delivery, edges his drive and thats a catch put down by North at third slip! Well that’s Stumps on Day 2 and England are at the bring of a certain defeat! England 82/5 in 32 Overs (Prior 4* Anderson 0*)
