Hussey comes in way of England’s fightback

Michael Hussey GabbaEngland fought back immensely hard on the second day’s play to even out things in the first Test at GABBA. However, Michael Hussey continues to stay in their way with an attacking unbeaten knock of 81 which has come in 144 balls with 13 fours and a six. Australia finished the second day’s which was halted by bad light and heavy showers at 220 for 5 in 80 overs in reply to England’s first innings total of 260.

The Aussies from a solid start of 78 for no loss were reduced to 143 for 5 with James Anderson and Steven Finn taking two wickets each. Apart from Hussey, opener Simon Katich came good scoring 50 from 106 balls before getting brilliantly caught by Finn off his own bowling. By Stumps, Hussey had ressurected the Aussies innings through an unbeaten 6th wicket stand of 77 with wicket keeper Brad Haddin who is on 22 (from 71 balls).
