England now have their backs to the wall with two full days left in the Test Match trailing behind by a huge deficit. They have finished the third day batting out 15 overs and losing no wickets.

The third day’s play saw Michael Hussey and Brad Haddin stretch their overnight partnership to 307 runs. Haddin went onto score 136 from 287 balls with 16 fours and a six while Michael Hussey missed out on a double century narrowly. He brought up a career best score of 195 which came in 330 balls with 16 fours and a six. For England, Steven Finn recorded good figures of 6 for 125 in 33.4 overs in what is his first Ashes appearance.
