Middle order batsman, Ian Bell came up with a fine century as England closed the second day’s play against South Australia at 303 for 6. Along with Ian Bell who scored 132, Paul Collingwood has come good as well scoring a neat 80. Andrew Flintoff on 6 and Geraint Jones on 14 were the unbeaten batsmen at stumps as the tourists got 90 good overs for batting.

England had a awkward start in the morning as they lost their overnight batsmen, Matthew Hoggard and Alastair Cook in quick time to Shaun Tait and Jason Gillespie respectively. But a 178-run partnership between Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood took them to a solid 212 for 4. Collingwood had worked hard for his 80 which were scored in 172 balls with just 6 fours while Ian Bell got his 132 from 240 balls with 12 fours and a six. Kevin Pietersen warmed up with a breezy 32 which came from 35 balls with five fours.
