Tait is the ICC Emerging Player

Shaun Tait has been named as the Emerging Player of the Year ahead of Bangladesh’s Shakib-al-Hasan, England’s Ravi Bopara and New Zealand’s Ross Taylor. Tait who is not a part of the Australian Squad for this Twenty20 Championship because of an elbow injury had taken a rich haul of 28 matches in the 15 ODIs he has played from August 2006 to August 2007. Shaun Tait has been erratic giving away too many extras and loose deliveries but has always come back strongly to give the breakthroughs for Australia with his express pace. Michael Hussey had accepted the award on behalf of Shaun Tait.
