A Captain Subramaniam Badrinath has been named as the
replacement of Sachin Tendulkar in the Rest of India Squad.
Sachin Tendulkar has been advised a week's rest by the Indian
Team Physio.
Tendulkar had declared himself fit a few
days back and was picked in the Rest of India Squad to play
Delhi in the Irani Trophy. But he had to be ruled out of the
match on precautionary basis. Ironically, it was S Badrinath
who had replaced Tendulkar when he had picked the elbow injury
during the Sri Lanka Test Series. Badrinath played a crucial
innings in one of his three ODIs to help India win through his
cool temperament. The right hander had also shown sound
technique against the likes of Ajantha Mendis and Muttiah
Muralitharan.
Sachin Tendulkar might be missing the Irani
Trophy match which begins on the 24th at Baroda but he will
play the first Test against Australia which begins on October
9th.
