Delhi Daredevils bowling simply couldn’t stop the two batting greats from chasing down an otherwise stiff target. Nepal leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane made his IPL debut to return with impressive figures of 4-0-25-1. The Nepalese teenager, who is yet to make his international debut, opened the bowling for Delhi Daredevils to take the wicket of Parthiv Patel.

Early on, Delhi Daredevils posted 181 for 4 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first by Virat Kohli. Rishabh Pant top scored with 61 from 34 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes while a new talent emerged in the form of Punjab cricketer Abhishek Sharma, who slammed 46 not out in 19 balls with the help of four sixes. The 17-year-old Abhishek Sharma, for the record was the captain of the India U-19 team, before being replaced with Mumbai’s Prithvi Shaw.

Delhi Daredevils was in early soup at 16 for 2 in the third over with Yuzvendra Chahal dismissing Prithvi Shaw and Jason Roy for 2 and 12, respectively. Captain Shreyas Iyer with 32 from 35 balls with Rishabh Pant laid the foundation with a third wicket partnership of 93 runs in 62 balls.

For RCB, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, opened the bowling to take 2 for 28 in four overs while Moeen Ali conceded only 25 runs in his four overs apart from dismissing Rishabh Pant in the 13th over.

This victory is only the fourth for RCB in 11 matches, which makes them avoid the last position in the Points Table of IPL 2018 while Delhi Daredevils are right at the bottom losing their ninth match in 12 games so far.
