As a result, Sunrisers Hyderabad with a 14-run win have stormed into the IPL 2018 Final to be played on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium against Chennai Super Kings. Interestingly, the two teams have been consistently in the top two positions of the IPL 2018 Points Table and deservingly have made it to the Final of IPL 2018.

Batting first after losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad was struggling to get to a good total at 138 for 7 in 18.1 overs. However, a magical cameo of 34 not out from 10 balls, which came out of nowhere, from Rashid Khan saw Sunrisers Hyderabad finish with 174 for 7. Rashid Khan hit four sixes in his brief stay in the middle.

SRH had a decent start with openers Shikhar Dhawan scoring 34 from 24 balls and Wriddhiman Saha scoring 35 from 27 balls. Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliantly to take two wickets – Shikhar Dhawan lbw after missing a sweep and SRH captain Kane Williamson caught behind off a googly for 3.

Apart from Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine bowled well for his 4-0-24-1 while tall medium pacer Prasidh Krishna was taken for 56 runs from his four overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders had a great start from Sunil Narine, who scored 26 from 13 balls before getting foxed by a slower one from Siddarth Kaul. Nitish Rana scored 22 from 16 balls before he was run out by Rashid Khan and Wriddhiman Saha, leaving KKR at 87 for 2 in 8.3 overs.

From a strong position, KKR slipped to 116 for 8 in 14.4 overs, losing the key wickets of Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell. It was brilliant captaincy from Kane Williamson in having a slip for Andre Russell, who edged one straight to Shikhar Dhawan in that position off a Rashid Khan leg break.

Young Shubman Gill provided some hope for KKR with 30 from 20 balls but the target got well beyond his reach. Kolkata Knight Riders finished with 160 for 9 with Rashid Khan taking 3 for 19 in four overs to bag the Man of the Match award.
