KXIP vs KKR Match Highlights : Kolkata Knight Riders registered a comfortable win by 31 runs against Kings XI Punjab in a high-scoring Vivo IPL 2018 match at Indore on Saturday.

It was a run fest on a flat batting pitch at the Holkar Stadium with Kolkata Knight Riders piling up 245 for 6 after being asked to bat first by Kings XI Punjab captain R Ashwin. It proved to be a wrong decision as Kings XI Punjab had a mountainous task ahead although they did earn respect by finishing at 214 for 8 in reply, making it over 450 runs in the match.
For Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine, opening the batting, scored 75 from 36 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes while skipper Dinesh Karthik scored a quick 50 from 23 balls. Despite the carnage, medium pacer Andrew Tye claimed 4 for 41 in four overs for Kings XI Punjab to become the Purple Cap Holder in IPL 2018. The 31-year-old Andrew Tye from Australia has 20 wickets in 11 matches in Vivo IPL 2018 with Hardik Pandya coming next with 16 wickets.
In their run chase, Kings XI Punjab was off to a promising start with Lokesh Rahul in good touch although batsmen at the other end weren’t quite firing. Lokesh Rahul scored 66 from 29 balls with a couple of fours and 7 sixes but got out too early, leaving his team at 93 for 4 in 9 overs.
Aaron Finch with 34 from 20 balls and R Ashwin with 45 from 22 balls could at the most ensure that Kings XI Punjab did not lose by a huge margin. Andre Russell was outstanding, using his short balls to good effect to take 3 for 41 in four overs while Prasidh Krishna chipped in with 2 for 31.
Sunil Narine along with his batting efforts, also came up with the key wicket of Lokesh Rahul to bag the Man of the Match award.
With six wins in 12 matches, Kolkata Knight Riders continue to blow hot and cold and are in the fourth position with 12 points in the Points Table of IPL 2018 while Kings XI Punjab are just above them despite their fifth defeat in 11 matches with 12 points.
