Kevin Pietersen South AfricaEngland moved towards the Semi Finals by winning their second consecutive Super Eights match. They defeated a ragged South Africa by a comprehensive margin of 39 runs. Nothing went right for the Proteas as their bowlers sprayed the ball around, the fielders put down some absolute sitters and the batsmen never got going in a failed chase of 169.

Kevin Pietersen set the match up beautifully with an attacking 53 from 33 balls with 8 fours and a six. It was taking the bull by its horns for KP as he unleashed a series of full blooded pull shots against the rising deliveries. KP got good support from opener Craig Kieswetter who made 41 from 42 balls.

Through some excellent new ball bowling, England reduced SA to 53 for 5 in the 10th over. South Africa were eventually bowled out for 129 with Sidebottom and Swann taking three wickets each.

Kevin Pietersen got the Man of the Match but he is heading back home for his wife’s delivery but is likely to return back on time for the Semis. South Africa are now in a do-or-die situation against Pakistan if they have to make it to the Semis.
