Eoin Morgan MirpurEngland sealed the ongoing 3-ODI Series against Bangladesh 2-0 having clinched a thrilling victory on Tuesday. Eoin Morgan played one of the best knocks of his life, an unbeaten century that pulled England out of the woods against a spirited Bangladeshi unit.

Hosts Bangladesh put on a competitive 260 for 6 after being asked to bat first in this Second ODI at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. OpenerImrul Kayes scored a patient 63 from 113 balls while Wicket Keeper Mushfiqur Rahim cashed in big time through a sitter put down by Broad to top score with 76 (from 88 balls). Tim Bresnan was the most successful bowler taking three wickets.

In their chase, England were pegged back losing two early wickets including that of Kevin Pietersen. They infact went onto lose last match hero Paul Collingwood cheaply. Skipper Alastair Cook came good again to score a second consecutive half century, 60 from 61 balls. England slipped to 108 for 4 and the critical partnership of the match was produced by Morgan along with Matt Prior (42). Both these good players of spin took England closer to the target with their 90-run stand.

In the end, the entire responsibilty fell on Morgan’s shoulders as he was losing partners quickly at the other end. Not only did the left hander had to preserve his wicket but he also had to take care of keeping abreast with the equation. Morgan finished as a herp with an unbeaten 110 from 104 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. For Bangladesh, left arm spinners – Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzak picked up three wickets each.
