England survive Dutch scare

England barely managed to defeat minnows Netherlands in the Group B Match at Nagpur. Netherlands who won the toss and elected to bat first came up with a huge total of 292 for 6 against a tired English bowling attack. Ryan ten Doeschate wo came in at no.4 scored a magnificent 119 from 110 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes to power Netherlands to that high total.

For England, Graeme Swann bowled well taking 2 for 35 in 10 overs. Anderson and Broad were taken to the cleaners by the minnows. England managed to chase the target successfully with 8 balls to spare thanks to half centuries from Skipper Andrew Strauss (88 from 83 balls with 9 fours) and Jonathan Trott (62 from 65 balls with 4 fours). The match went to the wire but the pair of Collingwood (30* from 23 balls) and Ravi Bopara (30* from 20 balls) kept their cool to clinch the win for England.

The Man of the Match award went to Ryan ten Doeschate who also picked up 2 for 47 in 10 overs with his medium pace to follow up with his superb century.
