Freddie honoured as England Cricketer for 2006

Freddie Flintoff has been honoured with the England Cricketer for 2006 award by Vodafone. The award was expected to be given to Andrew Flintoff who had played a major part in regaining the Ashes for his country with his sterling performance of 402 runs and 24 wickets. Katherine Brunt a dashing all rounder like Andrew Flintoff has been awarded with the Women’s England Cricketer award for this year. The women’s team had also regained the Ashes. Meanwhile Andrew Flintoff has also signed up a five-year contract with his county Lancashire for whom he is committed to play whenever he is available. Freddie is also England’s Captain at the moment with Michael Vaughan out of action due to his knee injury.
