England closed the second day’s play at 103 for 1 in 26.2 overs before bad light forced an abrupt end again in the Durban Test. Skipper Andrew Strauss scored a strokeful 54 with 9 fours before getting his stumps shattered by Morne Morkel. Cook on 31 and Trott on 17 are the unbeaten batsmen for England.

Earlier in the day, South Africa did extremely well to stretch their first innings score from 175 for 5 to 343. Overnight batsmen AB de Villiers (50) and Mark Boucher (39) added a vital 63 runs for the 6th wicket. Dale Steyn made all the difference in the end with an unbeaten 47 which included three sixes. Graeme Swann was the most successful bowler taking four wickets.
