Cricket fans gear up for ICC T20 World Cup 2021

Cricket fans are gearing up for the mega event of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, which is set to begin next month to be played in Oman and the UAE.

A total of 45 T20 matches will be played in the tournament from 17 October to 14 November, giving betting enthusiasts plenty of opportunity to get rewarded from 22Bet sports betting and other cricket betting sites.

As many as 16 teams will be taking part in what will be the seventh edition of the ICC T20 World Cup. The defending champions are the West Indies.

This is one tournament, wherein it is highly difficult to suggest which is the favourite team, considering the unpredictable nature of the format of the game.

Originally, the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 was to be played in India but due to the massive outbreak of Covid-19, the tournament was moved out.

Interestingly, Oman will make its mark on the international cricketing map by hosting matches of mainstream teams.

All the main cricketing nations are part of the ICC World T20 2021 with the exception of Zimbabwe. Afghanistan will be taking part in the tournament despite the ongoing political turmoil in the country.

Apart from Afghanistan, the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will see minnows such as the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland, and co-host Oman.

The tournament will see two rounds, the first of which will feature a dozen matches between eight teams. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, Namibia, the Netherlands, Oman, and Papua New Guinea are the teams that are part of this round, of which the top four will make it to the Super 12s.

The Super 12s, which marks the actual tournament, will see the 12 teams split equally into two groups. The top two teams from the Super 12s will play the Semi Finals. The final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will be played on 14 November at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
