New Zealand are sitting pretty at 329 for 4 on the opening day’s play of the First ANZ Test match against India at the Eden Park in Auckland. India frittered away the early advantage of reducing the hosts to 30 for 3 after winning the toss and bowling under overcast conditions. Kane Williamson and Brendon McCullum flayed the Indian bowling attack scoring centuries to rescue the Kiwis.

Kane Williamson kept his ODI form going with a fluent knock of 113 from 172 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes. It was the 5th Test century for the 23-year-old Kane Williamson. Along with Captain Brendon McCullum, Williamson added 221 runs for the 4th wicket.

By the close of play, Brendon McCullum has raced away to 143 not out in 210 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes. Corey J Anderson is giving him company on 42*. Ishant Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for the tourists taking the early wickets of Hamish Rutherford and Ross Taylor. Zaheer Khan got the other two wickets which also included strangling Kane Williamson down the legside.
