Rookie players Ajinkya Rahane and Varun Aaron have been called up for India’s One Day Squad to replace Virender Sehwag and Ishant Sharma. Sehwag batting in India’s second innings yesterday showed signs of straining his shoulder which was operated only a few days back. His replacement is young Ajinkya Rahane, a promising 23-year-old batsman from Mumbai who has already scored 17 first class centuries.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma is reported to have picked up an ankle injury during the third Test. His replacement is the exciting Varun Aaron, who surely is India’s fastest bowler ever. Aaron is capable of hitting the 150 kmph on a consistent basis. The 21-year-old Jharkhand boy is a rookie at the first class level too but he has shown enough promise in the Deodhar Trophy and also in the recently played Emerging Players Tournament in Australia.
