World Champs and recent Champions Trophy winners – Australia have announced a 15-man squad for this month’s 7-ODI Series in India. The squad misses important names like Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin, Nathan Bracken and Callum Fergusson. Vice-Captain Clarke was out of the Champions Trophy with a back injury, Haddin too was out of the same tournament with a finger injury and Bracken is recovering from a knee injury. Ferguson on the other hand had a tragic knee twist during the Champions Trophy Final. Shaun Marsh returns back to the side in place of Ferguson.

The 15-man squad led by Ricky Ponting includes an unknown spinner in Jon Holland from Victoria. Holland is an orthodox left arm spinner and is expected to complement off spinner Nathan Hauritz on the spinner cum batsmen friendly tracks in India. The deputy for Ponting will be Michael Hussey. The series starts late this month on the 25th at Vadodara (Baroda).

Following is the Australia Squad for the India Series : Tim Paine (WK), Shane Watson, Ricky Ponting (C), Michael Hussey, Adam Voges, Cameron White, Shaun Marsh, James Hopes, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Nathan Hauritz, Peter Siddle, Jon Holland, Ben Hilfenhaus, Doug Bollinger
