Baroda on verge of victory despite Fallah’s hat-trick

As many as 16 wickets fell on the third day’s play at Pune which included a hat-trick from Maharashtra’s medium pacer Samad Fallah. Baroda are the favourites to win the match facing a target of just 101. They have lost makeshift opener Yusuf Pathan for a duck though in the chase. Yusuf became the hat-trick victim of left armer Fallah who had two wickets in two balls towards the end of Baroda’s first innings. The visitors were earlier bowled out for 395 with Samad Fallah capturing 8 wickets.

Baroda having taken a first innings lead of 107 bowled out the hosts for 207. Irfan Pathan (4 for 48) and Munaf Patel (3 for 78) wrecked the Maharashtra batting line-up. Wicket Keeper Rohit Motwani top scored for the hosts with 62.
