Doug Bollinger finished with mean figures of 4-1-13-4 to bowl the Chennai Super Kings into the Final of IPL-3. CSK despite putting up a moderate total of 142 for 7 defended it successfully to down the Deccan Chargers by a crushing margin of 38 runs. The fielding and the bowling were simply outstanding from Dhoni’s team. They now meet the Mumbai Indians in the big final on the 25th at this same DY Patil Stadium.

CSK had found itself out of the contest when it slipped to 96 for 5 in the 15th over. A much needed cameo of 24 from 15 balls from Srikkanth Anirudha lifted them to a better looking 142 for 7. Ryan Harris was the pick of the bowlers for DC with 3 for 29. There were atleast three or four catches put down by the Chargers. S Badrinath was the top scorer for CSK making 37 from 41 balls while MS Dhoni chipped in with a 32-ball 30.

Deccan in their chase were pegged back at 54 for 5 losing all the main batsmen with the exception of Symonds who too couldn’t do much about the situation. The defending Champions were bundled out for a paltry 104 in 19.2 overs with all the CSK bowlers playing their part in sustaining the pressure. The fielding was electrifying to say the least especially from Suresh Raina.
