Essex’s Ravi Bopara has been included in the England Squad for the Third Test to replace the injured Jonathan Trott. Bopara will bat at no.6 with Ian Bell to continue at no.3 where he scored a match-winning knock in the Second Test at Trent Bridge. England lost Jonathan Trott after the top order batsman landed heavily on his shoulder while fielding at mid off during the second Test.
England have also included Steven Finn as a cover for Chris Tremlett who is recovering from back spasms. Finn is unlikely to play as Tim Bresnan has sealed the spot for the 3rd pacer in the English team with his powerful all-round show in the second Test. However, Finn could still get a game in case England decide to go in with four quicks by dropping Graeme Swann for the 3rd Test at Birmingham.
