Broken finger ends Tim Paine’s Series!

Australia’s young keeper cum opener Tim Paine will no longer take part in the ongoing 7-ODI Series against India after breaking his ring finger in the second ODI.

The 24-year-old Paine who is filling for the injured Brad Haddin received a nasty blow yesterday while collecting a rising delivery from Peter Siddle on a fast and bouncy Nagpur wicket. A over or two after the incident, Paine gave the impression of heading back to the pavilion to keep the Aussies in a spot of bother. However, after some quick treatment, Paine resumed his wicket keeping duties and even took a couple of brilliant catches in the final over. Paine had opened the batting as well but could score only 8 before losing his off stump to Praveen Kumar.

The replacement for Tim Paine is going to be the 30-year-old Graham Manou from South Australia. Manou had unexpectedly got to make his Test Debut during the recent Ashes Series after a last minute injury to Brad Haddin. Manou has been scheduled to fly this evening to India and is expected to land on time to play in the 3rd ODI at Delhi on the 31st.
