Gautam Gambhir struck an unbeaten 57 to guide Delhi Daredevils to a crucial 6-wicket win over hosts Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Needing just 113 to win on a turning pitch, Daredevils found themselves in huge trouble at 38 for 4. However, the rescue act came in from an unbeaten 75-run stand between Gambhir and Mithun Manhas (25*). Gambhir, who was named as the Man of the Match scored five fours in the 56-ball knock.
Earlier in the evening, CSK were in deep trouble to begin with at 23 for 3 losing Hayden, Vijay and Dhoni cheaply. Not a single batsmen fired and the hosts ended up with just 112 for 9. Ashish Nehra picked up 3 for 26 while Virender Sehwag (4-0-18-2) and Amit Mishra (4-0-13-1) got plenty of turn in their tidy spells.
