Shakib Al Hasan has played an absolutely stunning knock to power Bangladesh to the final of the Tri-Nation tournament. Sri Lanka have been upset by the hosts in the last league game with the Tigers chasing the target of 148 in just under 24 overs! The 21-year-old Shakib scored an unbeaten 92 from just 69 balls with the help of 10 fours and two sixes in a tight run chase after the hosts were reduced to 11 for 3. Bangladesh chased the target with 5 wickets in hand. Earlier the Sri Lankans were bowled out in just 30.3 overs with veteran Jayasuriya top scoring with 54. The rest of the batsmen failed to get going.

Zaheer puts Mumbai in winning position

Zaheer Khan took 7 wickets to wreck Uttar Pradesh’s first innings and the Mumbai openers put on 136 runs to put their team in a winning position in the Ranji Final. Zaheer’s figures look quite devastating at 7 for 54 in 27.2 overs. UP’s opener Shivakanth Shukla played a fighting knock of 99 but got little support from the other top order batsmen. Mumbai by close of Day 3 at Hyderabad have got a second innings lead of 287 with all their 10 wickets in hand. The two Mumbai openers Wasim Jaffer and Vinayak Samant have helped themselves to unbeaten half centuries.

India to play 3 Tests in New Zealand

The BCCI has confirmed that India will be playing an extra Test Match in their New Zealand tour which begins in March. It is also reported that the Indian team for the upcoming 5-ODIs and 1 T20I in Sri Lanka will be picked on the 18th of this month. It was only yesterday that this tour was confirmed by the Indian Board.
