CricketFundas condoles the demise of Blessington Thomas

CricketFundas.com condoles the sudden demise of Mr. Blessington Thomas, a Senior BCCI and HCA Scorer cum Statistician. Mr. Thomas died of heart attack yesterday according to the Hyderabad Cricket Association. He was just 57.

Blessington Thomas was a well known personality among the cricketers, board officials and media representatives. He has been HCA’s Official Scorer since more than 35 years! ‘Tom Brother’ or ‘Tom Sir’ or simply ‘Tom’ as he was popularly called among the cricketing fraternity and the local Hyderabad Media was even there during the Ranji Trophy match between Hyderabad and Orissa. He wasn’t feeling well during the third day of the match but continued to do the scoring but on the fourth day he didn’t turn up because of high fever.

Blessington Thomas had a collection of scorecards of most of the first class matches played by Hyderabad and several statistics which he had provided to the Association and the Media. He used to regularly send emails which used to update about the news, scores related to the HCA to the Media. In his three decade long career as a scorer, he has seen and implemented all the different kinds of scoring right from the good old scorebook and pens till the latest scoring software in his laptop.

CricketFundas.com is grateful for all the help that Mr. Blessington Thomas had done which was in providing scorecards of several Moin-ud-Dowlah and other domestic matches. We at CF pray that his soul rests in peace.
