Chennai Super Kings picked an important win against Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium beating the visitors by 24 runs. The hosts had put up a par total of 165 for 4 on what was a slowish wicket but under heavy dew conditions. The top scorer for CSK was Hayden making 35 from 31 balls.
Mumbai were off to a good start but once an exhausted Sachin Tendulkar retired ill, the whole momentum was lost and wickets fell in a heap. At one stage, Mumbai Indians were in a miserable stage at 89 for 7. Tendulkar returned back to bat but couldn’t do anything, he got out having made 45 from 35 balls. Harbhajan Singh smacked three sixes in his 23-ball 33 which was useful in cutting down the margin of defeat. Mumbai Indians finished with 141 for 9. The Man of the Match went to Suresh Raina who scored 23 and took the key wicket of AT Rayudu.
