Sri Lanka have added medium pacer Dammika Prasad to their squad for the 2nd Test at Galle. The Selectors have retained the same squad that was picked for the first test in Colombo.

The second test begins from the 31st at the Galle International Stadium where the pitch is expected to take more turn than the SSC Ground wicket. The inclusion of Dammika Prasad was because the pace attack of Sri Lanka was quite pedestrian in the from of Chaminda Vaas and Nuwan Kulasekara. There was hardly any pace from these two bowlers to trouble the batsmen. Sri Lanka had left out Thilan Thushara out of the first test, who is their fastest bowler available presently. Thushara, the left armer can swing the ball at sharp speeds and has also got a very good bouncer. He might be brought into the playing XI for the second test and it remains to be seen if SL are going to take the brave move of dropping veteran Chaminda Vaas or not. Dammika Prasad on the other hand may not be picked although he had taken three wickets in the warm-up game against the Indians prior to the first test. Dammika Prasad also is not a really quick bowler to trouble batsmen at the international level. Sri Lanka has been heavily relying on Murali and Mendis because of the absence of speedster Lasith Malinga.

Sri Lanka are leading the 3-Test Series Idea Cup 1-0 after beating India black and blue in the first test by an innings and 239 runs!
