England have retained the same players that had taken part in the 3-0 Test Series win against West Indies for the first Test at Lord’s. The biggest worry for England is that their strike bowler – Steve Harmison’s hernia has aggravated and is unlikely to play the Lord’s Test. However, he is included in the 13 with either James Anderson or Stuart Broad filling up for him in the playing eleven.

Stuart Broad is yet to play a Test Match for England but has played quite a few One Day Internationals. In the ongoing match for England Lions against the Indians, Broad took 5 for 76 in around 20 overs and had also scored a half century. The first Test at Lord’s begins on the 19th. Meanwhile there is news coming out that Andrew Flintoff is trying to get fit for the 7-ODI Series against the Indians. Flintoff was ruled out of the West Indies Series and the Indian Series because of an ankle injury.

England Squad for Lord’s : Michael Vaughan (Captain), Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Matthew Prior (Wicket Keeper), Matthew Hoggard, Monty Panesar, Steve Harmison, James Anderson, Ryan Sidebottom and Stuart Broad
