Rain played spoilsport in the final of the NKP Salve Challenger Series between India Blue and India Red forcing both sides to share the Trophy. India Blue who won the toss and elected to bat were in a formidable position at 210 for 4 in 31.2 overs before rain had come to dampen what could have been an exciting evening of cricket under lights.

Virender Sehwag who had missed out his side’s second match due to a right ankle injury came back into the side to remain unbeaten on a dazzling 81-ball 90 which had 11 fours and a six. The other significant contributor was Skipper Rahul Dravid with 43 from 52 balls with 4 sixes. Sachin Tendulkar who had shown scintillating form in this tournament was dismissed in the first over of the match itself caught by Robin Uthappa off speedster Zaheer Khan for a 3-ball duck. Zaheer Khan had a good outing with the ball capturing two wickets for 32 in 6 overs. Vikram Singh who had taken 7 wickets in the Tournament was declared as the Man of the Series.
