Gambhir, Yuvraj and Harbhajan to miss ODI Series

Yusuf PathanIndia will have to do with a depleted squad for the upcoming 3-ODI Series as well. The trio of Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh are set to miss the One Dayers. Yusuf Pathan forces his way back into the team following his stupendous double century in the Duleep Trophy to lead West Zone in an incredible chase.

Gautam Gambhir, the run machine for India in recent times misses out with a groin injury. The southpaw did not take the field on the third day’s play at Kolkata in the second Test match. Yuvraj Singh, who has been out of the Test Series is yet to recover from the finger injury. The third player – Harbhajan Singh has taken leave to attend his sister’s wedding. Harbhajan’s absence provides opportunity to Tamil Nadu’s offie – R Ashwin who gets his second call to the Indian team. Earlier he was picked but not played in the Only T20I against Sri Lanka.

Fast bowlers Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth have not been picked in the side. The Selectors have recalled swing bowler Praveen Kumar and Mumbai’s Abhishek Nayar. The 15-man squad selected is for the first two ODIs at Jaipur (Feb 21) and Gwalior (Feb 24).
