Sourav Ganguly will be sitting out of the 2nd One Day International at Kochi after injuring his hamstring at Bangalore. Although Ganguly’s injury isn’t all that bad, he will be rested as a precautionary measure.

Ganguly had been injured while fielding in the first ODI at Bangalore which was abandoned. He hardly had anything to do in the match as his injury came in the early part of the Australian innings which saw him get replaced with Dinesh Karthik on the field in the 27th over. Ganguly may be replaced with Robin Uthappa for the next ODI which is a day match at Kochi tomorrow.

The Indians are likely to rope in another change to their line-up with Harbhajan Singh expected to play instead of Ramesh Powar. Powar was taken for 50 runs in his 6 overs. There was lot of speculation as to why Powar was played ahead of Harbhajan but the reason could be that the latter had a stiff neck on the day of the first ODI.
