Southern team Karnataka looks good going into this season’s Ranji Trophy Super League with Rahul Dravid leading the team. The 36-year-old Dravid will be available for Karnataka till the start of the 3-Test Series against Sri Lanka and may be after the first week of December. Dravid of late has lost a place in the Indian ODI Side which in turn has benefited Karnataka.

Batting wise, Karnataka has two India prospects in Robin Uthappa and the new sensation Manish Pandey who will be looking to make a transition into the longer format of the game. Uthappa could lead Karnataka in Dravid’s absence but he himself will not be available for the second round after getting selected for the Board President’s XI against Sri Lanka.

The 16-man Karnataka squad has veteran left arm spinner Sunil Joshi and also Stuart Binny, who returns back after his stints with the rebel Indian Cricket league. The Coach of the Karnataka team is Sanath Kumar.
