The Baroda-Saurashtra match has been finished inside two days with Irfan Pathan leading the hosts to a 7-wicket win. After a disastrous first day in which 20 wickets fell, the pitch had more trouble in store for the batsmen. Saurashtra got bundled out in their second innings for 137 in less than 38 overs with Skipper Irfan Pathan and Firdaush Bhatia taking four wickets each. Young India hopeful Cheteshwar Pujara proved his class with a knock of 74 in Saurashtra’s second innings.
The target for Baroda was 141 which was a tricky one on this Moti Bagh Stadium pitch. But a counter attack innings from Irfan Pathan (65 not out from 45 balls) in the company of a solid Jacob Martin (36*) saw the target through in a little over 31 overs.
