Karnataka needs five more wickets for a possible innings win on the fourth day against Maharashtra. The hosts are at 254 for 5 in their second innings and still face a deficit of 194 to make Karnataka bat again. A superb partnership of 188 between Ankit Bawne (117 not out) and Rohit Motwani (78) has ensured that Maharashtra did not go onto lose the match inside three days. For Karnataka, pacer Abhimanyu Mithun picked up three wickets in the second innings. The visitors had declared their first innings at 553 for 4 with Amit Verma unbeaten on 141 and B Akhil on 54.
