South Australia won their third consecutive match of the Champions League to force their entry into the Tournament Semis. This was after defeating a star-filled Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 wickets at Kingsmead in Durban. RCB batting first after winning the toss kept on losing wickets all the time to get bowled out for 154 in 19.5 overs. Things would have been a lot worst but for Ross Taylor’s 46 (from 28 balls with 8 fours and a six) and Dillon du Preez’s 46 (from 25 balls with a four and four sixes).

Medium pacer Daniel Christian took four wickets for SA, three of which came in the final over. The target of 155 was reached with nine balls to spare by the South Australia Redbacks once they got an opening stand of 124 from Daniel Harris (57 from 38 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes) and Skipper Michael Klinger (69 from 57 balls with 9 fours and a six).
