Shane Warne Rajasthan RoyalsShane Warne proved that leg spinners are the true match winners in any version of cricket as he scalped 4 for 21 to bowl Rajasthan Royals to a stunning 2-run win over Deccan Chargers. Chasing just 160 runs for a win, Deccan Chargers were pegged back by Warne’s inspiring spell and Siddharth Trivedi’s nagging medium pace. Warne got the Man of the Match  and the biggest wicket he took was that of the dangerous Dwayne Smith.

Though DC needed just the 6 runs from the last over, they lost as many as three wickets including that of their hero Rohit Sharma (73 from 44 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes) to be bowled out for 157. Apart from Rohit Sharma, the only other batsman who got going was Skipper Adam Gilchrist who threatened to run away with the game through his 17-ball 34 before debutant pacer Aditya Dole bounced him out.

Earlier in the evening, RP Singh returned back to form taking 3 for 17 in 4 overs on a nice bouncy pitch at Nagpur. Based on Shane Watson’s lovely knock of 58 from 36 balls, Royals could put up atleast 159 before getting bowled out.
