Rohit SharmaYoung middle order batsman Rohit Sharma has been tragically ruled out of the ongoing NatWest ODI Series with a fractured index finger. Rohit Sharma has retired hurt during the 1st ODI when he was hit painfully on the glove by a Stuart Broad bouncer. It was immediately understood that he would be out of action for a few days when he grimaced in unbearable pain when the physio tried to pull his right index finger. The Selectors have named Manoj Tiwary as Rohit Sharma’s replacement.

There was an earlier injury scare for Team India ahead of the first ODI with Sachin Tendulkar missing the match with a recurring toe injury. Tendulkar in the past had a toe surgery and he is expected to visit a surgeon in London on Monday. The Master Batsman could well miss out in the rest of the tour with this injury though it is yet to be confirmed.
