Murali Vijay likely to replace Gautam Gambhir in Mumbai Test

Stylish right hander Murali Vijay is most likely to replace Gautam Gambhir for the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Gautam Gambhir who has cracked two consecutive centuries in the ongoing Series is going to miss the third Test to attend his sister Ekta’s wedding.

The Selectors have retained the same squad for the final Test with only Gambhir missing out. India would not be too worried because of the absence of Gautam Gambhir as Murali Vijay has proved that he has the international class to deal with best of bowlers. Vijay had replaced Gambhir during the fourth Test at Nagpur against Australia where he handled Brett Lee and co. with ease to score 33 and 41. Vijay has been in terrific nick this season having scored 148 in one of the Ranji matches for Tamil Nadu. He has cracked two fifties and a century this season in the three innings in Ranji Trophy.

India Squad for Third Test : Virender Sehwag, Murali Vijay, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar,  VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni (C&WK), S Badrinath, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Sreesanth, Pragyan Ojha and Amit Mishra.
