Rajasthan Royals went down fighting despite chasing a highly impossible target of 247 in 20 overs at the Chepauk! The visitors led by Naman Ojha’s 94 (from 55 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes) and Shane Watson’s 60 (from 25 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes) put up almost an equally impressive reply of 223 for 5.
However, Chennai Super Kings had the last laugh for batting the Royals out of the match. Doug Bollinger ensured a 23-run win because of his mean figures of 4-0-15-2 in a match where every other bowler was taken apart by the batsmen.
It was a sensational century from Murali Vijay, 127 in 56 balls that helped CSK reach 246 for 5. Vijay, who mostly played authentic cricketing shots scored 8 fours along with 11 sixes! Albie Morkel played his part with a 34-ball 62 that contained five sixes.
