India Red have forced their way into the Final of this season’s NKP Salve Challenger Series after picking up a bonus point in their comprehensive victory against India Green.
Chasing a modest target of 224, India Red wrapped up their chase in just 38.4 overs losing just two wickets. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay put on a superb stand of 155 to lay the foundation of an easy win. Dhawan scored 68 from 81 balls while Vijay went onto score 104 from 117 balls with 10 fours and a six. The other performers of the match were Sourabh Tiwary (66) and Aniruddha Srikkanth (58), both these youngsters were instrumental in helping India Green reach a respectable total. India Red’s Munaf Patel ws the most successful bowler of the day taking three wickets.
