Left arm spinner Iqbal Abdulla took an impressive 4 for 52 in 32 overs for Mumbai in what turned out to be a 2-day match at the Brabourne Stadium due to the rains. Orissa just managed to escape from getting bowled out in their first innings and thus ensuring that it took 1 point along with Mumbai from the match. India pace Zaheer Khan spearhead took 3 for 100 in 24 overs. For Orissa, Niranjan Behera stood like a rock with an unbeaten 78 while Bikas Pati and Pravanjan Mullick chipped in with fifties. Mumbai had earlier declared at 307 for 4 with Wasim Jaffer scoring an unbeaten 165.
