After a disappointing batting show, the Australians pulled up their socks to put on a destructive bowling performance at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The hosts – the young RCA Centre of Excellence found the Australian bowling too hot to handle as they collapsed in a little over 52 overs for a paltry 122.

The Aussies decided to put a fullstop to the match an hour after lunch on the second and final day as they achieved what they wanted which was a bit of batting and a bit of bowling in Indian conditions. Brett Lee had captured a couple of wickets at the top while the uncapped bowlers – left arm pacer Doug Bollinger and offie Jason Krejza took three each. All the six bowlers used by Ponting with the exception of Mitchell Johnson were amongst the wickets. The Australians will now travel south to Hyderabad where they will encounter a much more competitive opposition in the Board President’ XI which is going to be led by Yuvraj Singh. That 4-day game begins on the 2nd of next month.
