Promising Manpreet Gony to replace injured Sreesanth

Manpreet Gony, the strongly built fast bowler from Punjab has been awarded with a place in the Indian team for the Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series (Kitply Cup) following his superb performances in the DLF IPL. Gony has got his chance following the side strain to Sreesanth which has put him out of action for two weeks.

The 24-year-old Gony has got a great height and is very strong in his shoulders. He has already proved his temperament against the best of batsmen in the international circuit which includes the likes of Tendulkar, Gilchrist and Jayasuriya! Gony who represented Chennai Super Kings consistently touched over 135kmph besides hitting the deck hard to get the desired bounce and movement.

This Punjab youngster is also capable of packing a few lusty blows towards the end of the innings. His fabulous performances right through the IPL made this delightfully sounding combination of  caught Dhoni bowled Gony in the scorecards. Gony has shown the world his discipline in bowling the consistent lines and length, his temperament against the best of the destructive batsmen and his big hitting. It has been a quick entry in the Indian team for this big fellow considering that he has played just the 5 first class games so far!
