Jacques KallisIt needed just under thirty minutes of bright sunshine on Day 5 for the Proteas to wrap up the First Test at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Both Sreesanth and Jaidev Unadkat were not good enough to hang in there with Sachin Tendulkar to offer any resistance. To be honest, they got very good deliveries to handle from Morkel and Steyn. Sachin Tendulkar too exposed them by taking singles early in the over and not keen on farming the strike. He remained unbeaten on 111 from 241 balls (with 13 fours and a six).

It was Morne Morkel providing the first of the two wickets with a back of length delivery that kicked up just around off to force Sreesanth to nick him second slip. Jaidev Unadkat, the no.11 looked alright until he got a nasty lifter from Steyn that climbed up with pace to hit his gloves and fly straight to third slip. India got bowled out for a fighting 459 in 128.1 overs. South Africa managed to pull off an innings and 25-run win despite the long innings from India.

For the Proteas, Steyn and Morkel were the stars taking a total of seven wickets each in the match. But it was Jacques Kallis with his all-round efforts of scoring 201 not out and two wickets to get the Man of the Match.
