Rajasthan Royals after a dull start have picked things up gradually and have gone on to register their third win of the season. They defeated a formidable Deccan Chargers at Ahmedabad, first restricting them for 148 for 9 and then making shortwork of the target.
Yusuf Pathan cracked an unbeaten 73 in a meaagre 34 balls. As many as eight sixes were struck by Yusuf as the Royals chased the target in just 15.4 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Opener Michael Lumb played his part with 45 from 32 balls.
Earlier, the Chargers got off to a bad start after losing Gilchrist in the first over itself and then Gibbs and Symonds exiting in quick succession. Rohit Sharma was the only star left to do something for the Chargers and he came up with a 35-ball 49. Rajasthan Royals bowled extremely well taking wickets at regular intervals to check the progress of the Chargers. Tait finally came good to pick up 3 for 22. Shane Warne got his leg breaks to fizz away to have a tidy spell of 1 for 15 in 4 overs.
